I am excited to announce that the National Endowment For the Arts has awarded me a Translation Fellowship! I am especially honored, because this is the first time the NEA has supported a translation from Swahili – and profoundly grateful that this honor has gone to a text as courageous and speculative as Katama Mkangi’s Africanfuturist novel Walenisi.
